Dueling chefs: a history

Nicole Reagan (author) is a junior journalism student at Rowan University working her way through life as a reporter at the campus newspaper, assistant at the University magazine, and a resident assistant. Before joining the wonderful world of journalism, she had all intentions of becoming a world-renowned baker and spending her college years at Johnson and Wales.
Now, as an amateur pastry chef, she manages her small, messy, apartment kitchen with fierceness and turns out baked goods on a seemingly endless basis for her co-workers, residents, and exceptionally hungry boyfriend.

Alex Hrebin (photographer/boyfriend/endless stomach) is a senior writing arts major at Rowan University and the love of the author’s life. He plagues her no end with requests for more cookies, chocolate truffles, and snuggle times.
Growing up with a father who cooked all the time and himself a cook in the Army Reserves, Hrebin has many years of experience whipping up delicious entreés, lunches, and snacks that puts the author to shame.
He spends his time writing whatever comes to mind, playing “A Tale in the Desert,” and taking care of all the dinner plans because the author can cook no “real food” other than pasta.
